CROSSING THE ALTAI MOUNTAINS

1 Day
Arrival in Almaty.First capital of Kazakhstan until 1997.And today it is the only city in the whole country with population of 2 million people. Almaty - a modern city, full of entertainment and cultural events. And still it is the economic and educational center. Transfer to the hotel. Accommodation, rest. Breakfast. City sightseeing: visit 28 Panfilov's guarsmen park, Cathedral. Museum of national musical instruments, National museum, Medeo gorge, Republic square (4 hours). Overnight at the hotel.

2 Day
Breakfast. Flight to Ust-kamenogorsk (2 hours). Arrival to Ust-Kamenogorsk . The city is located at the confluence of the rivers Irtysh and Ulba. Founded in 1720. Transfer Ust-Kamenogorsk guest house (170 km). Accommodation at the guest house. In the evening russian sauna, tea with fresh Altay honey. Overnight.

3 Day
Breakfast. Start of trekking in Altay mountains. Hiking: Gemma guest house - Kedrovoye lake (8 km). The way runs along Palevaya Razlivanka river among Altay taiga with high-altitude. Flora changes. We can see alpine tundra. Further track runs on a mountain range among the Alpine flowered lowlands. The Panorama of Belaya and Chernaya Uba. In a good weather it is possible to see Insky Belok glacier. The camping in tents on Kedrovoye lake (H- 2200) Overnight at the tents.

4 Day
Breakfast. Radial walking to "Stone town" area - high granite rocks with bizarre form. There are sources of Belaya and Chernaya rivers of East Kazakhstan. These rivers form Uba river upon confluence. Overnight at the tents.

5 Day 
Breakfast. Hiking: Kedrovoye lake - the place called "Black node" (8 km). Ascent to range, to source of Turgusun river. On the full way we can see panorama of Turgusun river and Visheivanovsky glacier (H- 2778 m). Hiking to Mezhozerny pass. Track lies along cascades of lakes. Accommodation in tents at the place "Black node". Overnight at the tents.

6 Day
Breakfast. Hiking: "Black node" - Ozerny pass (9 km). The way lies along beautiful Palevoye lake and then along gorge of Pravaya Gromotuha river. Further the way lies along cascade of lakes, forest. Near pass Ozerny is mountain lake. Camping tents at the lake. Fishing (grayling). Overnight at the tents.

7 Day
Breakfast. Hiking: Ozerny pass - Podbelkovoye lake (6 km). Descent and in 1 hour we can see beautiful waterfall. Then descent via Ust-Kamenogortsev pass to Podbelkovoye lake. Accommodation in tents on lake. Rest. Overnight at the tents.

8 Day
Breakfast. Hiking and descent to valley of Palevaya Pazlivanka. Transfer by autotransport to guest house. Transfer to Ust-Kamenogorsk. Accommodation at the hotel .Overnight at the hotel.

9 Day
Flight to Almaty. Arrival to Almaty. Accommodation in the hotel.Free time. You canhave a walk around the city. Overnight at the hotel.

10 Day
Transfer to airport. Departure from Almaty. End of the tour.
